CADD Centre, in association with Bentley Systems, conducted an industry institution interaction program on “Structural Design & Analysis” at Hotel Breeze, Chennai, on 19 March 2010.
The event marked the launch of training in Staad.pro V8i and Microstation Powerdraft V8i, the latest version from Bentley Systems. CADD Centre, in an effort to bridge the gap between the industry and the institution, invited Head of Departments, professors, and lecturers from engineering colleges to grace the occasion. The event served as a platform to connect the teaching fraternity with the industry to discuss about the latest accomplishments in the structural engineering and construction industry.
The program kicked off with a welcome note by Mr. Subramanian, Country Head-Operations, CADD Centre. Mr. Amit Saxena, Director-Sales, Bentley Systems, spoke about worldwide structural design and Bentley Systems’ role. This was followed by a presentation on comprehensive software solutions for sustaining infrastructure by Mr. N. Rajadurai, Director-Technical, Bentley Systems. A software demo on Staad.pro V8i and Microstation Powerdraft V8i was given by Mr. P.V Mohan, Technical-Consultant, Bentley Systems.
The keynote speaker, Mr. Rajaram, Ph.D., visiting professor, IITM, NIT-Trichy, and Hindustan University, delivered a presentation on “The Need for structural design software knowledge” which was well received.
The event also witnessed the official launch of STAAD.Pro V8i by Mr. S. Karaiadi Selvan, Director-Operations, CADD Centre Training Division. This was followed by his presentation on CADD Centre-Power of Size. The program ended with a vote of thanks.
